The Vikings improved to 3-0 last week. They now sit atop the NFC, in a rare position to control their fate. Minnesota’s success under backup QB Sam Darnold has been impressive, but they’ll face a much tougher test this week at Green Bay.
Vikings Freezing Out Opponents at 3-0
Minnesota has been the most impressive team in the NFL through the first three weeks. They smothered the Giants 28-6 in their opener, before upsetting the defending NFC champions in Week 2. On Sunday, the Vikings faced off against the 2-0 Texans. They didn’t miss a beat, surging ahead to win 34-7. Minnesota holds an NFL-best +55 point differential. Their offense under backup QB Sam Darnold and their previously shaky defense have both stormed past expectations.

Packers “Maliking” the Most out of Willis
The Packers started the season with terrible news. After losing a closely contested opener against the Eagles, they lost rising star QB Jordan Love to a knee injury. Since then, things have improved vastly in Green Bay. Love dodged a bullet with a less serious injury, and backup QB Malik Willis has done a sensational job of filling in for him. Through two games, Willis is 2-0 with 73.5% completion and a 122.7 passer rating. The Pack is back.
Vikings Vying for Victory
Despite the success of Malik Willis over the last two weeks, Green Bay is still at a disadvantage without Jordan Love. Willis’ two wins so far came against weak AFC South opponents, so this matchup against a surprisingly strong Vikings defense is key. On the other hand, Minnesota has been rocking with their backup QB all season, so they won’t have a massive advantage over Willis. Ultimately, we see a more complete Vikings team winning a very close bout, 26-24.
