The FA Cup is revered for its potential giant killings, and there could be one at the Hawthorns on Sunday, as Championship side West Bromwich Albion welcome non-league Aldershot to the West Midlands. But, can West Brom survive a scare and reach the fourth round?

Before Betting On West Brom vs Aldershot

A fascinating fixture in the FA Cup is set for the Hawthorns this weekend, as West Brom look to avoid a shock giant killing when they host Aldershot Town. West Brom have a fine recent record in the third round of the FA Cup, having progressed from six of their last nine ties in the opening round. However, two of their exits at this stage have come in the last three seasons.

Aldershot are no strangers to being the outsiders in the betting for their FA Cup fixtures this term, as they have already upset the odds in each of their last two matches in the competition. The visitors have eliminated Football League opposition in the previous two rounds, following victories over Swindon Town and Stockport County. However, they were 2-1 losers against Middlesbrough in their latest match against Championship opposition in January 2013.

This will be the first meeting between the sides in a competitive fixture on Sunday. However, the Baggies boast an excellent record against non-league opposition, having won each of their last five home matches by an aggregate scoreline of 26-0. But, confidence will be found in this Aldershot side, who are looking to reach the fourth round of the competition for just the second time.

An Aldershot player to consider when it comes to parlays this weekend is 19-year-old Josh Stokes. The teenager has been involved in half of Aldershot’s ten goals in the competition this term, scoring three times and registering two assists.
