One of the most intense ties in the fourth round of the FA Cup this weekend will take place at The Hawthorns, as a fascinating Black Country derby between West Bromwich Albion and Wolves will be staged. But, which side will claim the bragging rights and progress through to the fifth round?

Before Betting On West Brom vs Wolves

For the first time in six years, there will be a showdown between West Brom and Wolves. This will also be the first time that the two rivals have clashed in front of fans in over ten years, with West Brom boasting the important home advantage in the fixture in the FA Cup this weekend.

The Baggies also hold a strong advantage in the matches between these sides that have been played in the FA Cup after winning eight of the last nine. That also includes victories in each of the previous three. However, this weekend’s clash will be the first time that the sides have met in the FA Cup since Albion landed a win in the fourth round in 2006-07. The last win for Wolves against West Brom in the cup was achieved in 1948-49.

Wolves have really struggled in away matches against the Baggies, having gone without a win in their last eleven trips to The Hawthorns across all competitions. Their most recent success on the road against their rivals was picked up in September 1996.

West Brom’s home record in the competition also deserves respect this weekend, as they have won by four-goal margins in each of their last two fixtures in the cup at The Hawthorns. Meanwhile, Wolves have a strong record in this stage of the competition after winning three of their last four matches in the fourth round. But, their only defeat over that sequence was suffered at this stage last term.
