West Ham and Chelsea both failed to get their Premier League campaigns off to a winning start last weekend. However, they will have the ideal opportunity to get on track on Sunday at the London Stadium, as the rivals clash in a London Derby.

Before Betting On West Ham vs Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino will take charge of Chelsea for the second time in a competitive match this weekend, as he looks to land a first win at his new club against the same opposition as he recorded his first win at Tottenham boss. The Blues have an excellent record in London derbies, and they could become only the second team to hit 150 wins in derbies this weekend.

However, the Blues will be looking to end a long run of inconsistent results in the Premier League, as they have won just five of their last 30 in the competition. This is currently the fewest wins that they have recorded over that period since the late 1980s. In fact, their only win over their previous 13 Premier League matches was a 3-1 success at Bournemouth in early May.

West Ham have alternative between winning four on the bounce and then failing to win four on the bounce against Chelsea in home matches. The previous clash between the sides at the London Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw last term. The Hammers ended last season in excellent home form, as they won back-to-back matches against Manchester United and Leeds.

However, their record in their opening home match of the season is very poor, as they have lost four of the previous five. Their only opening home win of the season over that period was a 4-1 success over Leicester City in 2021-22. West Ham have also suffered defeats in eleven of their previous 16 London derbies in the Premier League.
