Before Betting On West Ham vs Chelsea

A fierce London derby kicks off the Premier League weekend on Saturday, as Chelsea will be looking to a vital win to improve their chances of a European finish this term. It remains incredibly unlikely that the Blues will be finishing in the top four places this term, but a strong finish to the season could see them finish in a Europa League spot.

At present, they sit ninth in the standings, and they have won just once in their previous six league matches. Chelsea have drawn each of their previous two matches in the English top-flight, with the latest of those being a 0-0 stalemate at Stamford Bridge against Fulham. Given the money Chelsea has spent, Graham Potter will be expected to improve his side’s performances immediately this weekend.

It will also be a big game for West Ham this weekend, as they remain extremely close to the bottom three places in the Premier League standings. The Hammers have picked up just five wins from 21 games this term, and that includes just a single victory in their previous six league matches.

However, positives would have been taken from their performance last weekend, as they battled back from a goal down to hold Newcastle United away from home. A victory this weekend could see them move up to 14th in the standings, and draw Wolves and Leicester back into the relegation scrap.

Each of the previous three matches between the sides have been won by the team playing at home. West Ham will be boosted by their recent point against Newcastle, and we could see them going one better against the Blues on Saturday.
