We are nearly a month into the 2023 MLB season and the White Sox (7-12) have yet to win a series so far. That is a trend that could continue at least this weekend for Chicago as they head to face Tampa Bay (16-3) who has yet to lose at home this season going 10-0 at Tropicana Field.
Before Betting on White Sox vs Rays
The Rays looked human on their first road trip of the season, losing two out of three in Toronto and then falling 8-1 at Cincinnati on Monday. That came after a 13-0 start to the season for Tampa Bay, plus they look back on track after outscoring the Reds 18-0 over the last two games at the Great American Ballpark (10-0, 8-0).
Chicago has dropped six of their last eight, and morale is low for fans of the South Siders as this is a team with high hopes yet are very underachieving early in the year. The Sox are only four games down in what should be a mediocre AL Central again in 2023, but they look like they are in for it this weekend in Tampa where the Rays have won all 10 games they’ve played at home this season.
Tampa Bay’s offense looks live they’ve righted the ship after scoring 18 runs the last two games against Cincinnati, which isn’t great news for Chicago starter Michael Kopech (0-2, 6.34 ERA). Kopech got rocked for 7 ER in his first start of the season, but gave up 1 ER over 6.0 IP in his lone road start of the year.
The Rays will start with Calvin Faucher and they’ve won four of five games he’s appeared in this season.
