Both of these teams lost the EFL Cup games this mid-week, yet that doesn’t make them too sad. The focus is on the Premiership, not the second-tier cup.

Before betting on Wolves vs. Manchester City

Julen Lopetegui’s crew is near the relegation zone following the opening five rounds. That’s because they underachieved in some games, but also because they didn’t have enough luck in some contests. One win in six meetings is under all the projections they had for the start of the season.

Wolves haven’t won for over a month, having three losses and a tie, counting this last EFL Cup game against Ipswich, 3-2. The defense has been terrible, and in all three defeats, to Crystal Palace, Liverpool, and Ipswich, we’ve seen it allowing three goals. That has to change in order to make any progress.

Manchester City suffered a defeat to Newcastle at St. James’ Park this Wednesday night in the EFL. Guardiola made some rotations in the lineup, starting with players who returned from injuries and getting them back into a competitive rhythm.

Up until this moment, City had eight consecutive victories across all competitions, which is something normal for the Treble winners. They are still perfect in the Premiership, winning all six meetings they had. The goal difference of Guardiola’s crew is 16 scored and only three allowed goals. Apart from a win over Newcastle more than a month ago, they have been netting at least twice in each of the events.

The Wolves are a team that plays offensive football. For the moment, they are benefiting from that, but we still believe they won’t change anything ahead of the Man City game. On the other side, the champs have the most ruthless attack in the league, so besides their victory here, we predict plenty of goals.
