Before Betting On Women’s French Open

The Women’s French Open has been staged annually since 1897, and it is the only Grand Slam of the season to take place on the clay surface. This year’s event will be the 122nd edition of the French Open, with players competing for their share of the $2.1 million in prize money.

Chris Evert is the most successful player in the Slam’s history, having won seven titles. However, there has been a dominant player in the women’s draw for each of the last four years, with Iga Swiatek winning three titles. The Polish superstar maintained her excellent record at the French Open after winning a three-set thriller against Karolina Muchova last year.

Swiatek will be hard to oppose once again this year, as she goes in search of a fifth Grand Slam title. Her win rate on the clay is challenging to overlook, as she has won 93% of her matches at the French Open.

Coco Gauff could be a potential value angle in the betting for the event this year. The American reached the final of the French event in 2022 before losing in straight sets against the Polish star. However, her confidence should be sky high coming into the Slam this year after winning the US Open and reaching the semi-final stage at the Australian Open.

Iga Swiatek1.95
Aryna Sabalenka7.00
Elena Rybakina13.00
Coco Gauff13.00
Karolina Muchova15.00

Swiatek is incredibly short in the betting to win the French Open for a fourth time. However, there could be value in siding with 16-year-old Russian star Mirra Andreeva. She has already shown her pedigree on the clay after reaching the last eight of the Open de Rouen, and she has won four previous events on the clay surface.
