Women’s cricket once again takes center stage in the United Kingdom over the coming months, as the 2022 Hundred season gets underway. The tournament made history last year as the women’s competition was put on the same scale as the men’s, which enable more media coverage and attention. Fans were treated to some excellent action, and that only promises to continue in 2022.
Before Betting On Women’s The Hundred 2022
It was a thrilling inaugural edition of the women’s Hundred, with a number of teams in the hunt of the top prize. However, ultimately, there wasn’t any stopping the Oval Invincibles. They finished second in the regular season standings after winning four of the eight games that they played. But, they stepped up their game in the playoffs.
The Invincibles beat the Birmingham Phoenix by 20 runs in the eliminator, before shocking the Southern Brave in the final. The Brave had been the clear favorites to win the women’s tournament, as they lost just once in eight games during the regular season. However, they struggled to score runs in the final, with Fi Morris top-scoring with 23 from 26.
Birmingham boasts one of the youngest squads in the women’s competition and should be better this year once again. The Phoenix started slow in the 2021 edition, and only just managed to force their way into the eliminator. Eve Jones was their stand out player, as she scored 233 runs from the nine games she played, while Kristie Gordon took 15 wickets.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see a repeat final from last year again in 2022. However, we could see the outcome being reversed. The Brave were the dominant force throughout the competition in 2021, but just lost their nerve at the wrong moment. We would expect them to amend that this year.
