The final Grand Slam event of the tennis season is only a matter of months away, as Flushing Meadows prepares to host the US Open 2022. Once again, it promises to be another exciting competition in the women’s half of the draw, as the unpredictability means that a number of players could be in contention for the top prize.
Before Betting On Women’s US Open 2022
The 136th Women’s US Open will get underway in August, as the world’s best players once again compete for one of the top prizes in the world of tennis. It has been an unpredictable competition in recent history, just like every other Grand Slam in the women’s game. The last three editions have been won by three different players, while six different players have won the Grand Slam in the previous seven years. The only player to have won on multiple occasions since 2014 is Naomi Osaka, who won the US Open in both 2018 and 2020.
Iga Swiatek will once again be the favorite in the betting for the Slam, as she looks to bounce back after exiting Wimbledon in the third round. However, the Polish star is yet to go any further than the fourth round. But, she did enjoy a strong effort on the hard courts at the Australian Open earlier in the year, as she reached the semi-finals. Osaka will be second choice in the betting, but whether the Japanese star can be competitive remains to be seen as she missed Wimbledon over the summer.
Simona Halep and Elena Rybakina both enjoyed excellent grass campaigns, with the latter winning her first ever Grand Slam with success at SW19. Meanwhile, Emma Raducanu will be much shorter in the betting after winning the Slam at her first attempt in 2021.

Cases can be made for a number of the players in the women’s draw. However, we like the chances of Sabalenka at +1200 with SportsBetting.ag, BetOnline and BetUS. The Belarusian player was forced to miss Wimbledon, but has been incredibly consistent on the hard surface. Last year, she reached the semi-finals of the US Open, and reached the fourth round of the Australian Open earlier in the year.
