The inaugural UFL season is underway following the XFL-USFL merger. This Week 3 game features a clash between the D.C. Defenders (1-1) and the Arlington Renegades (0-2). The Renegades are a 2-point underdog at home in this matchup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before Betting on Defenders vs Renegades<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Defenders bounced back from their opening week loss, defeating the Roughnecks 23-18 in Week 2. QB Jordan Ta’amu had an up and down start, completing 16 of 32 passes for 212 yards, 2 touchdowns, and an interception. Ultimately, Ta’amu and company did enough to earn the victory, and will aim to build on that performance against the Renegades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D.C. also saw a notable defensive improvement in their Week 2 victory over Houston. After allowing the Brahmas to score 27 points in their first game, they settled in nicely in their home opener. They held the Roughnecks to no more than six points per quarter, limiting their offense both on the ground and through the air. They’ll be back on the road in Week 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arlington is one of just two UFL teams that went winless in the first couple of weeks, still seeking their first victory of the season as they enter Week 3. That being said, they took a notable step forward last week, despite losing. After falling by 13 points at home in Week 1, the Renegades played St. Louis well on the road, losing by a score of 27-24. They’ll aim to build on that momentum against D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

QB Luis Perez remains one of the most talented passers in the UFL. He completed 21 of 29 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown in the Week 2 loss. Unfortunately, he was provided with little support in the run game and on defense. Arlington needs to improve on a 3.2 yards per carry mark over the first two weeks. With proper support, Perez could lead the Renegades on a winning streak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite how poorly the Renegades played at home in Week 1, they should be in much better shape for this game. Improvements in Week 2 can be built on, and the home crowd should provide an advantage. That being said, the Defenders also took a step forward from Week 1 to 2, and picked up a victory in the process.
