The inaugural UFL season is approaching its midway point. This Week 5 game features a clash between the red-hot St. Louis Battlehawks (3-1) and the D.C. Defenders (2-2). The Battlehawks are a 3-point favorite, despite being on the road in this matchup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before Betting on Battlehawks vs Defenders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Battlehawks continued their red-hot play in Week 4 against the Showboats, defeating them by a score of 32-17. They’ve now won three consecutive games, after opening the season with a loss in Week 1. St. Louis is considered to be the favorite to win the UFL as of now, and ranks behind only the Stallions in overall record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A.J. McCarron continued to play at a high level for the Battlehawks, completing 35 of 45 passes for 222 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Though he didn’t throw down the field much, McCarron was calm and in control, leading the team to victory. He’ll aim to build on that performance in a premier QB matchup against Jordan Ta’Amu and the Defenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of Jordan Ta’Amu, he played well once again, despite DC’s loss in Week 4. He completed 12 of 22 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, he didn’t get much help from the running game, which averaged 3.1 yards per carry. The Defenders need to formulate a more balanced offensive attack to keep up with St. Louis this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, DC’s defense, which struggled early in the season, had a strong showing last week. They held the now 4-0 Stallions to just 20 points, keeping the game close despite the offense’s troubles. The Defenders face one of the XFL’s best offenses in Week 5, needing to build on their success against Birmingham to have a chance at winning against St. Louis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St. Louis has looked like the best team in the league over the last few weeks, and is favored to win this game.
