Both teams will be competing for pride and to find positives to build on for next season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"before-betting-on-defenders-vs-showboats\">Before Betting on Defenders vs Showboats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Defenders were eliminated from playoff contention following their 26-21 defeat to St. Louis in Week 8. D.C. had a notably better season than the other three teams that missed the playoffs, but still came up short of expectations. This week&#8217;s game against Memphis provides an opportunity to remain able to finish with a .500 record of 5-5. QB Jordan Ta&#8217;amu had an up and down game on Sunday against the Battlehawks. The 24-18 defeat dropped them to 1-7 on the season. The Showboats have little to compete for down the stretch, but will still aim to get the best of their competition. With the UFL likely to return next season, Memphis would benefit from finding an area to build on in these last two weeks.
