Seattle has two more chances in this 4-game set to increase their lead in the AL West and push the Astros back further from the 5.5 GB they currently sit as the third place team in the division. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"before-betting-on-may-29-astros-vs-mariners\">Before Betting on May 29 Astros vs Mariners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Houston has gone 2-3 on their current road trip and are just 4-6 over their last 10. The Astros offense has been held to 2 runs or less in four of their last six so this is a team that is starting to fizzle out &#8211; although it is early in the 2024 season. The Mariners meanwhile have put a four game losing streak behind them and are back on track with three consecutive victories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Astros will try to stop their skid behind veteran <strong>Justin Verlander<\/strong> (3-2, 3.60 ERA) in what will be his 39th career start vs. Seattle. The 41-year-old can still sling it, coming off 6.0 IP of 1ER ball at the A&#8217;s on Friday and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/news\/justin-verlander-throws-seven-scoreless-innings-to-beat-tigers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allowing 2 hits in 7.0 ER in his previous road start at Detroit<\/a>.
