This weekend\u2019s event boasts a purse of $2 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"before-betting-on-bmw-international-open\">Before Betting On BMW International Open<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The BMW International Open is one of the most prestigious golf events to be staged annually in Germany, with some of the world\u2019s best players likely to be in contention for their share of the $2 million purse this weekend. The stroke play event covers a total distance of 7,284 yards, and it is staged at Golfclub Munich Eichenried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been staged since 1989, and it is an important prep event before the start of the Open Championship in the United Kingdom. It has been held at its current home since 2012, and it is one of just two events on the European Tour schedule that is held in Germany on an annual basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John Daly set the record score when landing victory in 2001, as he finished with an aggregate total of 261 to finish 27-under. Henrik Stenson and Pablo Larrazabal are two of the most successful recent players in the event, with both stars winning on two occasions. The reigning champion coming into the event this year is Thriston Lawrence, who finished a shot clear of Joost Luiten last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patrick Reed will be one of the most interesting players involved this weekend, with the American competing for the second straight weekend after claiming a share of 28<sup>th<\/sup> at the Italian Open last weekend.
