The Blue Jays are now 5-5 in August &#8211; a mediocre mark for an underwhelming squad that seems to be counting down the days to the offseason. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toronto might be best known for their second generation pipeline of <strong>Vlad Guerrero, Jr.<\/strong>, <strong>Bo Bichette<\/strong>, and <strong>Daulton Varsho<\/strong> whose lineage includes former MLB players, and it seems like they&#8217;ve added another as <strong>Will Wagner<\/strong> (son of All-Star closer <strong>Billy Wagner<\/strong>) went 3-4 on Monday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/sports\/mlb\/will-wagner-recalled-making-mlb-debut-on-monday\/ar-AA1oGrCn\">in his big league debut<\/a>. For as good as Wagner was in his first MLB game, it was <strong>Bowden Francis<\/strong> who led the Jays to victory in the series opener with 7.0 IP of 1-hit ball. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Bowden Francis tossed the best start of his career, firing off 7.0 iP with 8 K and 1 H allowed (solo HR)<br><br>Francis leaned on his fastball and weaved in a bunch of secondaries to fend off Angels batters. The Blue Jays have won five straight Gausman starts and he has a 9.0 IP and an 8.0 IP outing in two of his last three. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Angels go with <strong>Carson Fulmer<\/strong> in game two making his sixth start of the season after coming out of the bullpen earlier in the year.
