The reigning champions boasted the best attacking and defensive records in the competition in 2023-24, but it has proved incredibly challenging for defending champions in Italy across recent history since the end of Juventus\u2019 dominance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AC Milan were Inter\u2019s closest challengers last season, and they will begin a new era under Paulo Fonseca in 2024-25. Milan strengthened its defensive options this summer following the arrivals of Strahinja Pavlovic and Emerson Royal, but they may still be slightly short in terms of quality when it comes to overthrowing Inter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Atalanta were one of the stories of the season in Europe last term after winning the Europa League, stunning the previously unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen in the process. The Italian side looks like a progressive side in Serie A, but their main goal will likely be to consolidate their position in the Champions League spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A resurgent campaign is likely from the 2022-23 champions Napoli, as they could only finish tenth in the standings last term. However, their championship claims could be impacted based on what happens between now and the final day of the transfer window surrounding the future of Victor Osimhen.
