It took almost a week in 2020, but was declared on Election Night in previous years. However, there is something of note. Most states have different rules regarding mail-in an early voting. Some states begin to count them prior to Election Day, which will allow them to report a larger quantity as soon as the polls close. Others wait until Election Day to start tabulation, making the results come in at a slower rate. The results have already begun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"when-will-we-know-the-winner\">When Will We Know the Winner?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to 2020, the U.S. Election winner was almost always determined late on Election Night. However Covid-19 changed things, as more than half of voters submitted their ballots by mail during the pandemic. That resulted in a week-long wait to determine the winner. It should take much less time in a post-pandemic era, but there will still be a high quantity of mail-in ballots, many coming from states that wait until Election Day to start counting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s no set time for the Election to be decided.
