The Yankees have opened up a seven-game lead in the American League East Division. The New York Mets snapped a seven-game losing streak on Sunday night, but this has been a difficult season in Queens. The Mets are now in fourth place in the NL East with a record of just 38-47. <strong>The Mets are +129 over the Yankees in the series opener on Tuesday night. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mets-just-have-no-bullpen\"><strong>Mets Just Have No Bullpen<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The<strong> New York Mets<\/strong> lead the Major Leagues in blown saves this season, and their bullpen has been a disaster of late. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sny.tv\/yankees\/news\/sources-mets-would-trade-zack-wheeler-to-yankees\/308700414\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Zack Wheeler (opens in a new tab)\">Zack Wheeler<\/a><\/strong> will make the start on Tuesday night and will need to pitch deep into the game. Wheeler is just 6-5 with a 4.51 earned run average so far this season but does have the ability to pitch well. The Yankees have hit 138 long balls this season, and their roster is incredibly deep. Catcher <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Gary Sanchez (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/empiresportsmedia.com\/new-york-yankees\/new-york-yankees-gary-sanchez-escapes-injury-luke-voit-not-so-much\/\" target=\"_blank\">Gary Sanchez<\/a><\/strong> leads the team with 23 home runs, but <strong>Gleyber Torres <\/strong>is right behind him with 19. Second baseman<strong> DJ LeMahieu<\/strong> is leading the team with a .345 batting average and 61 runs batted in.<br> <br> Left-hander <strong>James Paxton<\/strong> will be on the mound for the Yankees, and they are waiting for him to pitch like he did a season ago. Paxton is just 5-3 with a 4.34 earned run average this season but has the capability of pitching much better.
