It is said that his company, Roc Nation, had come to an agreement that <strong>allowed for involvement<\/strong> in the entertainment side of the NFL, while also tackling problems within the social-justice issues surrounding the league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was a surprise to many people as Jay-Z had shown support for ex-quarterback Colin Kaepernick in the past. Everyone knows the story of Kaepernick, whose career<strong> took a tumble <\/strong>after he knelt during the National Anthem, creating a debate that is still talked about to this day.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may have heard news about Kaepernick recently, as he suggested that Nike take a shoe off the market that had a Betsy Ross flag logo on it. Nike pulled the shoe, and this caused <strong>quite the uproar<\/strong> from people who don\u2019t support Kaepernick or his efforts to protest freedom.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"is-this-deal-legit\">Is This Deal Legit?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Some people believe that Jay-Z\u2019s involvement with the NFL is nothing more than <strong>a PR stunt<\/strong>. One may say this is a way for the NFL to give a better look to a league that has been accused of favoring certain races.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jay-Z caught the attention of many when he suggested that we\u2019re \u201cpast the kneeling.\u201d Players who have supported the movement started by Kaepernick back in 2016 were fast to<strong> express their disappointment <\/strong>with the rumored deal.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Defensive back Eric Reid of the Carolina Panthers has been quoted as saying that this move is a \u201cdisingenuous partnership.\u201d Many players seem to be <strong>on the same page<\/strong> about the matter.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills also voiced his opinion and clearly <strong>did not support the partnership<\/strong>. Dolphins coach Brian Flores decided to take matters into his own hands by playing a slew of Jay-Z songs during practice. In an interview after the practice, Flores stated that this was meant to motivate Stills and push him to perform at a high level.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-does-this-mean-for-the-future\">What Does This Mean For The Future?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It has also been said that this could eventually lead to Jay-Z owning an NFL team at some point in time. The rapper has recently hit <strong>a net worth of $1 billion<\/strong>, so maybe this rumor isn\u2019t very far-fetched. Jay-Z has always been one to invest his money wisely and has been known to be very successful with the businesses he has created.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the NFL being one of the <strong>biggest sports leagues<\/strong> in the world, it seems like a no-brainer for Jay-Z to accept a deal. The revenue continues to grow, and, after all, Jay-Z is a businessman.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s hard to say where this deal will take the NFL, and it\u2019s too early to know whether <strong>either side will benefit<\/strong> from the partnership.
