That includes a 6-3 victory on Monday night fueled by <strong>Nelson Velazquez<\/strong> and <strong>Christopher Morel<\/strong> combining to 5-8 with 2 HRs. Chicago has a great chance to make it two in a row in the Nationals vs Cubs Aug 9 matchup considering Washington has now dropped six in a row. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cubs are hefty favorites on Tuesday night with <strong>Marcus Stroman<\/strong> (3-5, 4.00 ERA) pitching well since the All-Star break. Stroman has allowed 4ER in 18.2 IP since the break and had a 0.89 ERA in four starts during July. The right-hander is still looking for his first home win however (0-3, 7.94 ERA). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nationals offense couldn&#8217;t get much going against Chicago starter <strong>Keegan Thompson<\/strong> (6.0 IP, 1 ER) with a <strong>Luke Voit<\/strong> HR accounting for their only score. <strong>Joey Meneses<\/strong> added a 2-run HR in the 8th but Washington was already down too much to come back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Paolo Espino<\/strong> (0-4, 4.20 ERA) has had two rough starts in a row, giving up 5ER over 4.0 IP to the Phillies last time out and 4ER across 4.2 IP the outing prior against St. Louis.
