This was happening as the Mets were getting beat 5-2 by the Cubs by as nearly -300 favorites in the offshore odds. New York is seemingly a lock to win on Tuesday vs. Chicago with <strong>Jacob deGrom<\/strong> on the hill as a -450 favorite, meaning the Braves are in a must-win spot here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Braves do have a 10 game lead in the wild card race so they&#8217;re going to the playoffs, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/standings\">but they are 1.5 GB from the Mets<\/a> in the NL East in a race that decides not only the division, but also likely who gets the coveted second bye in the playoffs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>San Francisco is happy to continue to play spoiler  after they are 68-73 this season after having the best record in baseball in 2021. <strong>Jakob Junis<\/strong> (4-5, 3.98 ERA) goes for the home team in the Braves vs Giants matchup, still looking for his first win since June 10th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Atlanta will send <strong>Kyle Wright<\/strong> (17-5, 3.23 ERA) to the mound on extra rest after he was rocked for 8 ER over just 4.0 IP last Tuesday, getting saved by his offense in a 10-9 Braves victory.
