The Dallas Mavericks (1-2) are still looking for their first road win of the season, but they have a great opportunity to check that off the list at the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday. The Nets (1-3) are coming off a 110-99 loss to Milwaukee on Wednesday night and are playing their first back-to-back of the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first thing to evaluate in the Mavericks vs Nets matchup is if Steve Nash<\/strong> will be doing any load management early in this young season with Kevin Durant<\/strong>, Kyrie Irving<\/strong>, or Ben Simmons<\/strong>. Maybe since it is early in the year those three will be a full-go on the back to back to try to work on conditioning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Durant and Irving both played 38+ minutes in the loss to the Bucks, a game that was close until Milwaukee outscored Brooklyn 32-23 in the fourth quarter. Durant had 33 points, but he lost the head-to-head battle with Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/strong> who had 43 points and 14 rebounds. On the bright side the Nets held Milwaukee’s back court combo of Jevon Carter<\/strong> and Jrue Holiday<\/strong> to a combined 20 points after giving up 76 total to Ja Morant<\/strong> and Desmond Bane<\/strong> in the 134-124 loss to Memphis on Monday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
