In the first CFP rankings released this week it&#8217;s actually the Volunteers that are flip-flopped as #1 with UGA at #3 but that may be temporary with the Bulldogs as high as a -9.5 favorite for this Tennessee vs Georgia battle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"before-betting-on-tennessee-vs-georgia\">Before Betting on Tennessee vs Georgia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>What&#8217;s fresh in our minds about the Volunteers &#8211; aside from two lopsided wins over Tennessee-Martin and Kentucky the last two weeks &#8211; is their 52-49 win over Alabama in week 7. The Vols offense was unstoppable in that game with <strong>Hendon Hooker<\/strong> moving into the Heisman front-runner position with 385 yards and 5 TD passes with <strong>Jaylin Hyatt<\/strong> catching all five of those. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hendon Hooker through 8 games:<br><br>\u2022 71.2 CMP% (1st in SEC)<br>\u2022 2,338 passing yards (3rd in SEC)<br>\u2022 21 passing TD (2nd in SEC)<br>\u2022 191.6 passer rating (2nd in FBS)<br>\u2022 91.3 QBR (2nd in FBS)<br><br>The Volunteers QB is currently the Heisman favorite \ud83d\udc40\ud83d\udd25 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/TIpGWEY1AS\">pic.twitter.com\/TIpGWEY1AS<\/a><\/p>&mdash; NFL Rookie Watch (@NFLRookieWatxh) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NFLRookieWatxh\/status\/1588897585326354432?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 5, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two big reasons why you just can&#8217;t look to the Alabama game and assume that Tennessee can hang here with Georgia. First, the win over the Crimson Tide was in Knoxville and that rabid fan base made a difference &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/10\/17\/1129426968\/tennessee-goalposts-alabama-football-win\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">even carrying the goal post out of the stadium<\/a> after the victory. Second, the Georgia defense is much, much better than Alabama&#8217;s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another thing overlooked in the win over the Crimson Tide was that Tennessee&#8217;s defense was kind of bad.
