Everybody outside the Bayou would&#8217;ve assumed that meant Phoenix, but here we are approaching 1\/3 of the way into the 2022\/23 season and it&#8217;s New Orleans atop the conference at 16-8. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"before-betting-on-suns-vs-pelicans\">Before Betting on Suns vs Pelicans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Friday night&#8217;s meeting is for first place in the conference, as Phoenix is having another solid start to the season at 16-9, just 1\/2 a game back from the Pelicans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Suns welcomed <strong>Chris Paul <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/35205420\/chris-paul-heel-expected-play-suns-take-celtics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">back to the lineup on Wednesday<\/a> after he was out a month with a heel injury, but it wasn&#8217;t pretty as the Celtics came to town and stomped on Phoenix 125-98. Defense is a very underrated aspect of this Pelicans squad, but they rank 3rd in defensive efficiency and have picked up the win in 10 of their last 12.
