The Rockets are fresh off a MAC Championship Game win over Ohio so they have momentum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"before-betting-on-the-boca-raton-bowl\">Before Betting on the Boca Raton Bowl<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Liberty had some impressive wins this season, most notably 41-14 over BYU in week 8 as a +7 point underdog and then 21-19 on the road at Arkansas with a +14 point line. As notable as those wins were, so are the Flames&#8217; last three losses including the defeat to Connecticut as -13.5 favorites, falling 23-22 at home to Virginia Tech with a line of -11, and then getting absolutely destroyed 49-14 at home against New Mexico State even though Liberty was a -24 point favorite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Flames have lost three straight to wind down the regular season and they were favored in each of those. Not only that, coach <strong>Hugh Freeze<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.al.com\/auburnfootball\/2022\/12\/hugh-freeze-with-some-sadness-cheering-hard-for-liberty-as-flames-prepare-for-boca-raton-bowl.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">has left to take the Auburn job<\/a> leaving co-defensive coordinator <strong>Jason Aldridge<\/strong> in charge for the Boca Raton Bowl. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Jason Candle got his second Mid-American Conference championship.
