Two teams oddly tied together meet up in the Camellia Bowl when the Georgia Southern Eagles face the Buffalo Bulls in Montgomery, Alabama. Both the Eagles (6-6) and Bulls (6-6) became bowl eligible by wins on the last play in the regular season, each is a former Camillia Bowl winner, and Georgia Southern’s QB was even at Buffalo last season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tuesday’s meeting will be bittersweet for Georgia Southern QB Kyle Vantrease<\/strong>, who had started 25 of 32 games at Buffalo prior to this season. He got great experience with the Bulls, but transferring proved to be the right decision<\/a> as the 6th year senior threw for 3,895 yards with 25 TDs to 15 INTs. Vantrease had never thrown for more than 1,865 yards or 8 TDs in a season with the Bulls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Vantrease led the Eagles to the #4 passing offense in the nation (327.4 ypg) but he will be without two of his top four receivers who have suffered season ending injuries. The losses of Derwin Burgess, Jr. <\/strong>(717 yards, 7 TDs) and Amare Jones<\/strong> (483 yards, 6 TDs) will sting, but Vantrease still has Khaleb Hood<\/strong> (893 yards, 3 TDs) and Jeremy Singleton<\/strong> (713 yards, 2 TDs) to throw to among others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
