The women’s UFC strawweight title belt is on the table as the current champion Zhang Weili meets the challenger, Amanda Lemos. This is the co-main event of the UFC 292, held at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
Before Betting on Zhang Weili vs. Amanda Lemos
Weili is already one of the legends of the UFC, with 22 wins and three losses. She was the strawweight champ, riding a 20-triumph streak before losing twice to Rose Namajunas, who once delivered a highlight reel high-kick KO and the second time a split decision to take the belt.
Yet, Weili recovered, knocking out Joanna Jedrzejczuk and submitting Carla Esparza at the UFC 281, reclaiming her title. She is a very good striker, who knows to combine both legs and hands, but who likes to torment rivals with relentless pace and punch output.
Lemos had one loss in the last eight bouts, and her record in the UFC is 13 wins in 15 appearances. After that defeat which was against Jessica Andrade in April 2022, Lemos returned with wins over Michelle Waterson and Marina Rodriguez, both via stoppage, the first after a guillotine choke, and the second with a TKO.
Lemos is a strong fighter and well-rounded, but she prefers to fight in stand-up because of her powerful and clean punches. She has a long reach, which creates problems for the rivals, and eight of her wins were via KO.
